Explanation and Results
Four Patients who said that they had fears or phobias about dentists and/or dental treatment were interviewed by Dr. Bressack. Each patient filled out two forms prior to, and again after, a one-hour EFT session with EFT Master Andy Bryce, and then again approximately 3-4 months later. These are the Corah Dental Questionnaire and the Dental Concerns Assessment. The Corah Dental Questionnaire consists of 4 questions that have answers ranging from 1 (low anxiety) to 5 (high anxiety). A total score of 4-20 is possible. A total score of 9-12 indicates moderate anxiety, a total score of 13-14 indicates high anxiety, and a total score of 15-20 indicates severe anxiety or phobia. If a patient scores in the severe anxiety range, as did all four patients initially, they are asked to fill out the Dental Concerns Assessment. Each of 26 dental procedures is rated either 1 (low anxiety), 2 (moderate anxiety), or 3 (high anxiety). The number of 1’s, 2, and 3,s is added up and compared. The results are as follows:
1)Jenny
A) In the Corah Dental Questionnaire, Jenny scored a 16 (severe anxiety) prior to EFT. After EFT, Jenny scored a 10 (moderate anxiety).
In the 3-Mo. Follow-up, Jenny scored an 11 (moderate anxiety).
B) In the Dental Concerns Assessment, two major changes were noticed. Prior to EFT, Jenny had answered that 10 procedures caused low anxiety, and after EFT, 15 procedures caused low anxiety. Three months later, 9 procedures caused low anxiety.
The number of procedures causing high anxiety went from 9 before EFT to 1 after EFT and to a 4 three months later.
2) Hilal
A) In the Corah Dental Questionnaire,
Hilal scored a 17 (severe anxiety) prior to EFT.
After EFT, Hilal scored a 7 (low anxiety).
In the three-month follow-up, Hilal scored a 15 (severe anxiety).
B) In the Dental Concerns Assessment, two major changes were noticed. Prior to EFT, Hilal answered that 5 procedures caused moderate anxiety, and 5 procedures caused moderate anxiety immediately after EFT. However, at the three-month follow-up, Hilal reported that 13 procedures caused moderate anxiety.
The number of procedures causing high anxiety went from 21 before EFT to 16 after EFT and down to 10 three-months later.
3) Rebecca
A) In the Corah Dental Questionnaire, Rebecca scored a 16 (severe anxiety) prior to EFT. After EFT, Rebecca scored a 10 (moderate anxiety). In the three-month follow-up, Rebecca scored an 11 (moderate anxiety).

Rebecca had answered that only 2 procedures caused low anxiety, and immediately following the EFT session, she said that 11 procedures caused low anxiety. Three months later, Rebecca was still reporting that 11 procedures caused low anxiety.
The number of procedures causing high anxiety for Rebecca went from 11 before EFT to 1 after EFT and to 5 three months later.
